They will then return to Spain to play against Vissel Kobe at Camp Nou. There will be no Supercopa final to be played against Valencia, the winners of the Copa del Rey, in August, as the structure of the tournament has changed and been moved to January 2020.

More friendly fixtures are expected to be confirmed before the start of the La Liga season on August 16.

Barcelona 2019-20 transfer activity

Barcelona are expected to re-jig their squad this summer following a disappointing season in which they lost out on their main ambitions of lifting the Champions League, as well as being defeated by Valencia in the Copa del Rey final.

Ernesto Valverde’s future at the club is still uncertain, with supporters having voiced their opinion that they wish for him to be dismissed.

Brazil international Philippe Coutinho is determined to stay at the club despite an unconvincing first full season at the club, though the Barcelona board have other ideas for him – and are expected to sell should the right offer come through.

The La Liga champions have already secured the transfer of Ajax star Frenkie de Jong, and Barcelona seems to be a possible destination for Antoine Griezmann who announced his departure from Atletico Madrid in May and has been flirting with a move to the Catalan side in recent seasons.

Barcelona 2019-20 La Liga fixtures

Barcelona will discover their La Liga fixture list when the official details are released in July.

Despite having been crowned Spanish champions, they will be expected to make a stronger push for the Champions League – last winning the competition in 2015 – after the disappointment of losing to eventual champions Liverpool 4-3 on aggregate in the 2018-19 semi-finals stage.

Lionel Messi’s first official season in charge as club captain, taking over from Iniesta, resulted in just the La Liga victory and the club will be sure to aim for more silverware next season.
